Planning is the process of getting from where we are to where we want to be. CDR can help you create your plan in a collaborative, community-focused process. Prime examples include:

System Master Plans
Master plans are tools for communities to set goals and priorities for the growth and development of a park system over time. Assessment of current conditions, public engagement, gaps and needs assessment, and action planning with strategic items, projected costs, and anticipated timeframes for completion are the main phases of the master planning process.
Site Design Plans
A site design plan helps map out a specific site to be developed or re-developed. The process is similar to a master plan but focused on a single site and more specific in the layout of a park and placement of amenities.
Operations and Maintenance Planning
Construction of a new park or recreation facility is just the beginning. An asset expected to last for decades requires constant and periodic maintenance and a plan for management and staffing. An operations and maintenance plan thinks through the way the facility should function, what it takes to maintain it, and how long and how often those tasks should be performed, all with the goal of measuring proper staffing levels and budget to ensure the total cost of operating that facility over its lifespan is understood and planned.
